Colette's main research interests are:

  • HIV co-infections: Hepatitis B and C
  • Quality of HIV care
  • Epidemiology of HIV-infection in  children
  • Pregnancies in HIV-infected women

Colette studied human nutrition and was trained as an epidemiologist at the Wageningen University. In 2001 she worked for the Centre for Infectious Diseases at the National Institute for Public Health and Environment, and subsequently started a PhD with the Amsterdam Cohort Studies at the Municipal health service of Amsterdam, resulting in a thesis entitled: ‘25 Years  of HIV: Trends in mortality, HIV-coinfections, and HIV-related risk behaviour’. Since 2006,Colette has worked as a senior researcher for Stichting HIV Monitoring.
