COHERE ( Collaboration of Observational HIV Epidemiological Research in Europe) is een uniek samenwerkingsverband tussen 33 cohorten in Europa, waarin antwoorden worden gezocht op wetenschappelijke vragen waar een grote steekproef voor nodig is. Het gaat om vragen die niet door de deelnemende cohorten afzonderlijk beantwoord kunnen worden en die niet al door andere samenwerkingsverbanden die aan COHERE deelnemen worden gesteld. Het doel van COHERE is om epidemiologisch onderzoek te doen naar de prognose en het behandelresultaat van hiv-geïnfecteerde personen van alle leeftijden in heel Europa, inclusief zwangere vrouwen. Er zijn twee regionale coördinatiecentra opgericht, één in Bordeaux en één in Kopenhagen. COHERE maakt deel uit van EuroCoord, het samenwerkingsverband waarin alle vanuit de EU gesubsidieerde cohortstudies op het gebied van hiv zijn ondergebracht.
