Stichting HIV Monitoring (SHM), an organization responsible for collecting and analyzing nationwide data  of people with HIV receiving care in the Netherlands, is saddened by the news of the passing of Timothy Ray Brown, widely known as the “Berlin patient".

“Tim Brown has meant so much to the field of HIV Cure research. My – and our - thoughts go out to his partner Tim", said Peter Reiss, director of Stichting HIV Monitoring on behalf of the entire organisation and its board. "We have fond memories of having Timothy with us in 2017  at our annual Dutch HIV conference."

The article published today by the International Aids Society pays an honorable tribute to Timothy, both as a person and as an HIV cure activist, is a recommended read for all of us -locally and globally- working in the space of HIV and AIDS.
