Board, business units and support
SHM’s offices are located in Amsterdam, near the Academic Medical Center of the University of Amsterdam. Read on for more about the organisational structure and an overview of SHM's staff.
The Supervisory Board is the supervising body of the foundation; members meet twice a year together with the Governing Board. Members of the Supervisory Board represent among others: the Netherlands' HIV Association, the Dutch Association of HIV Treatment Practitioners, and a delegation on behalf of academic and non-academic HIV treatment centres and Amsterdam UMC.
The scientific Advisory Board consists of researchers, both local and international, in the field of infectious diseases. The Advisory Board meets at least once a year and advises the SHM Board. The Advisory Board is appointed by the SHM Board.
Working Group SHM
The Working Group SHM advises the Director on executive matters regarding use of data stored in the national HIV database and consists of members and reviewers.
SHM has a strong collaboration with all HIV treatment centres in the Netherlands. At these centres data from people living with HIV are collected and stored in the national SHM database. The foundation collaborates nationally and internationally with various organisations for data collection and for research and analysis purposes.
