Obtaining data for research

To request statistical information from the SHM database or data for own research please use the Request for data form to do so. A brief overview of the procedure relating to obtaining data for research is located on the Research proposal page.

Conducting own research

If you are planning to conduct research by using SHM data, we expect you to file a progress report once a year as part of SHM’s annual report. If your research application is accepted, then your research will be added to the Research in progress page. When the research leads to publication or is stalled, SHM should be informed. Completed projects will be added to the Completed research page with a listing of papers related to that research project. Papers will also be listed on the Publications page of the website.

Any questions?

For more information, please contact the data collector or data monitor at the HIV Treatment Centre where you work or contact SHM.

Stichting HIV Monitoring

SHM, the Dutch HIV monitoring foundation, makes an important and necessary contribution to healthcare for HIV-infected people living in the Netherlands. Through the collection and maintenance of anonymous data from HIV-patients throughout the country, our work contributes significantly to the knowledge of HIV and enables treating physicians to assess and improve patient care. Our yearly monitoring report provides valuable input for the development of HIV care and prevention policies within the Netherlands and the EU.
