Peter Reiss receives royal honour

On 22 July, SHM director Prof. Peter Reiss received the prestigious royal honour of ‘Ridder in de Orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw’ (Order of the Netherlands Lion), bestowed on him by his Royal Highness King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands. In the presence of his family and a number of colleagues from the HIV field, Peter was awarded the honour by the newly-appointed mayor of Amsterdam, Femke Halsema, during a short ceremony in the Rijksmuseum.
