Implementation of new data entry system is now underway!

We have been working hard behind the scenes since 2014 to find a suitable replacement for our data entry system, Oracle Clinical. After a long preparatory phase to identify the best partner for this complex project, Stichting HIV Monitoring signed a contract with ICT Group Netherlands (ICT) in May this year. This signalled the official kick-off of the project that has been named LISA (LogicNets, ICT, SHM and ADICT*). As LogicNets’ exclusive integration partner in the Netherlands, ICT is responsible for delivering and supporting the application. The AMC IT department (ADICT) supported SHM during the preliminary stage and will continue to provide assistance by hosting and maintaining the new data entry system.

The aim of the project is to customise and implement LogicNets, a decision-support data entry system. SHM’s data collection protocols will be integrated within the LogicNets system, making it easier for our data collectors to decide what should be collected and coded through a series of questions that lead to the correct outcome, while maintaining a high standard of quality. The implementation of LogicNets will also enable SHM to further increase the efficiency of the data collection process, streamline the quality control process and better facilitate data analysis.

A project manager has recently been appointed and various project teams have been set up to ensure that the project runs smoothly. One of these teams, the protocol team, has been working hard during the past months to convert the current protocols into decision tree structures, designed as efficiently as possible so as to do away with unnecessary steps or queries. The team have already identified around 170 decision trees that will undergo a process of design, testing, approval, construction and re-testing, according to a set timeline.

Regular updates about the project will be published in our quarterly newsletter. However, should you wish to keep up with developments more closely, why not follow us on LinkedIn?
