AIDS 2018: SHM engagement tour and other activities

As we get closer to the AIDS 2018 conference in July, plans for events associated with the conference are beginning to take form. Stichting HIV Monitoring (SHM) will be playing an active role in various events during week.

As in previous years, organisations from the HIV field in the Netherlands, including SHM, will be represented at the Dutch booth in the conference exhibition hall. During the course of the week, representatives of SHM will be available at the booth to answer questions about SHM’s work.

SHM will also be taking part in the Meet & Greet event organised as part of the Positive Flame walk through the city of Amsterdam. The walk will take place on Wednesday 25 July, between 4.00 PM and 7:30 PM. Together with the Dutch Association of HIV-Treating Physicians (NVHB) and the Dutch Nurses’ Association’s (V&VN) HIV/AIDS nurse consultants unit, SHM will be representing the organisations involved in HIV care in the Netherlands at a stand located near the Spinoza monument on the Waterlooplein in Amsterdam. Details of the walk are available on the positive flame website.

Finally, SHM will be offering an IAS Engagement Tour, entitled ‘The ins and outs of a nationwide HIV monitoring system’.  As the title suggests, this tour will explain how SHM monitors HIV in the Netherlands and provides an introduction to SHM’s new data entry system, DataCapTree. Places on the tour are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. More details about the tour and how to sign up can be found on the AIDS2018 website.
